Coping with my feeling during COVID
By Emely Compres For me one of the most difficult things about the social distancing is missing my friends and teachers. I miss spending time with them and learning new things. Sometimes I get sad because I don’t know when this COVID rules of social distancing is going to end. It is important to take care of yourself emotionally and physically. The leader in me teaches us to sharpen the saw! This means we need to take care of ourselves and bodies. The way I take care of myself is to listen to music, coloring, spending time with loved ones, eating right, and sleeping well. But one of my favorites self care activity is drawing. When I draw I feel calm and happy. I feel like nobody can take away my way of expressing myself. Drawing allows me to use my imagination and think of a better world. I use my imagination and think that my friends are right next to me helping me color. Even though we are at home my friends and loved ones are still there. My pictures remind me of that. My advice is to never give up, find yourself something you love to do. It is okay to feel lost sometimes, all we can do is move forward in a direction that makes sense to us and hope for the best. |

It is inspiring to realize that in choosing our response to circumstance, we powerfully affect our circumstance.
